Hi, I’m Dawn Carroll.
I've spent more than 25 years in communications, most recently as Director of Communications at Christian Care Ministry, the nonprofit behind the Medi-Share healthcare-sharing program, where I wrote for and counseled six different CEOs across two decades. I didn't arrive at strategy from the outside.
I didn't start at the top. I worked sales, editing, and management before I ever held the strategy seat, and that's exactly why I notice things other consultants miss. I've seen what happens when communications gets treated as an afterthought instead of a priority, and what it costs an organization when no one's thinking ahead.
That's the gap I fill now.
I write because words are how I think, and I'll always be a writer first. But the work I do goes past the page. I'm a fractional strategic leader who sits where your VP of Communications would sit, if you could afford one full-time. I diagnose what's actually broken, build the plan, and use AI-augmented execution to deliver work at a scale that used to require a whole department.
Most consultants jump straight from strategy to tactics. I don't skip the middle. The diagnostic work, the gap-mapping, the "who actually owns this" conversation, that's where the real value lives, and it's where most agencies don't go because it's slower and harder to bill for. I go there first.
